Who? What? When?

25th April 2010

Who am I? What am I doing?

A tough question at the moment I feel...

I am a 27 yr old science teacher, currently living in Bromley with my Mum and Dad.

Not part of the life plan!

I moved back home at Christmas having spent the last 9 years living, studying and then teaching in Southampton, until last year it all turned upside down when my brother died of a hideous cancer on 1st June 2009.

I got miserable and depressed and decided that something had to change. That change started by moving home to release the financial pressures. I was going to have a few months off work, but I was offered three teaching jobs on the first day of the spring term, so I took one! I am now permanently employed as a secondary science teacher at a local school.

So what now? As there are many aspects of my life I'm not happy with, so I thought I'd have a go at changing them; slowly; one by one.

So now that location and job have changed and settled a little, its onto the next thing on my to do list: lose weight. So I thought I'd track some of it here. More for my own benefit as anyone elses. I quite like the idea of the permanent record I can create and the easy to read and see changes that should take place. It may be inspirational, but mostly it will be boring and hungry!

So, why all these changes? What do I hope to achieve?

By losing weight I want to achieve the following outcomes:

1. I will wear smaller clothes, in more attractive styles from more mainstream stores.
2. I will have more self control, because I will be confident and happy.
3. I will need less sleep and have more energy.
4. I will have better skin, because my eczema will improve and I will have fewer spots!
5. I will do more exercise because I won't feel like such a fool, and I will be proud of my body.

So, not too many demands then (?!?!?) At least these are positive outcomes that I can focus on and that will help me to change. Some enormous mental challenges to overcome and a few physical ones too. Come the new year I want to be leading a completely different life! I want to have a different lifestyle and be proud of it!
